My early exposure to video games and PCs lead me down a path to competing in full-time competitive Counter-Strike. I didn’t have the backing to get as far as I had dreamt, but getting proficient enough to hang with the best showed me how far my conscientious nature could take me.
I applied the knowledge and drive I had for playing the game into developing a course for it, and called it Bootcamp. With the help of the lovely folks at TL;DR Media, I created a free, 6-day course that dished out wisdom I had gained from my 7 years of competition. I was tasked with developing the ethos of the project, creation of all its content, and marketing it post-release. All of this was accomplished on a volunteer basis.
I furthered my writing career by taking on a freelance position at Refrag, who offer industry-leading practice tools to budding Counter-Strike pros. I learned the ropes of writing both long and short form content for SEO purposes. In December 2024, I took over as editor-in-chief of blog operations, overseeing content direction and performing editorial duties for all blog articles.
In an effort to apply some of my technical skills gained from my post-secondary education, I also write 5 articles a week for XDA, a website covering everything in the world of consumer tech. I specialize in PC components, PC building, and peripherals, but will not shy away from an opportunity to write about a topic I’m not an expert on.
