Hi there! I’m a former semi-professional Counter-Strike player turned freelance writer, with a deep fascination with all things computing.

That deep fascination has lead me to pursue a career working with them full time. I’m currently a student in the Computer Systems Technician program at George Brown College in Toronto, set to graduate in Spring 2025.

I may be a full-time student by day, but by night, I’m editor-in-chief of an esports blog and use my budding technical knowledge to write entertaining articles for a well-respected brand in the consumer tech space.

Curious to know more? Read about me here.

My work

Education

I began my work as a Computing Writer at XDA in September 2024. I specialize in generating engaging and informative technical articles on PC building, home networking, and audio; all tailored for a broad audience.

My role involves producing up to five unique articles weekly while ensuring each piece is optimized for readability by non-technical readers. I am committed to delivering high-quality content under stringent deadlines, routinely achieving over 10,000 impressions per article.

Additionally, my attention to detail is evident in my thorough reviews of product samples. I specialize in computer peripherals due to my extensive background in esports.

I actively collaborate with team members to develop creative article ideas on a weekly basis, ensuring a steady stream of fresh and compelling content.
My writing journey brought me to Refrag in November 2023. Refrag is the industry-leading practice tool for Counter-Strike. I was one of the few writers that spearheaded the launch of their blog, which covers Refrag features and Counter-Strike gameplay concepts.

In December 2024, I was elevated to the position of editor-in-chief. Collaborating closely with a team of talented writers, I manage assignment schedules and oversee the publication process to maintain a steady flow of new material.

My expertise in SEO optimization drives our blog to consistently rank highly on Google for CS practice tools, while sustaining an impressive 10% click-through rate on blog articles.

In addition to my blogging responsibilities, I significantly amplify Refrag’s online visibility through long-form social media content, culminating in over one million impressions in 2024 alone.
When I stopped competing in Counter-Strike, I knew I still wanted to contribute in the community. With the help of the lovely folk at TL;DR Media, I developed Bootcamp. After over 365 days of volunteer work and even the release of a new Counter-Strike title, we released Bootcamp to the public.

Bootcamp is a 6-day course that teaches students 6 different fundementals of competitive CS. The course breaks down complex nuggets of wisdom and explains it in a way that even a complete beginner can understand.

It’s free, delivered via email. I put my HTML/CSS skills to work, creating webpages that allowed the covered content to shine through.

The focus was on creating something high quality that users could keep referring to for years after they finish the course.
